IFF’s plans of action have been
divided into three stages namely;
• FILM SCHOOL
STAGE
• FILM/VIDEO MAKING STAGE
• DOCUMENTARY
STAGE
THE DOCUMENTARY MAKING STAGE
The documentary making stage has been divided
into two phases namely;
i) Equipments purchase stage
ii) Projects implementation stage
Equipments purchase stage
Since our crew will be involved in traveling
long distances into the hinterlands of the three
northern regions for shooting, it’s expedient
that we have our own production equipments which
will save us much more time and resources. As
such the first phase of the project will involve
the purchase of production equipments.
Projects implementation stage
IFF’s initial interest consists of making
social sensitization documentaries to tackle
ills in the society. These include rural to
urban migration, female genital mutilation,
girl-child education, indigenous agro production
processes among others. The 15-20 minute documentaries
will be telecast on a yet to be chosen television
station dubbed "northern focus".
IFF will also co-ordinate and collaborate with
its prospective FUNDING partner(s) in areas
of special interest for the purposes of mutual
understanding.
FILM SCHOOL
STAGE
An establishment of a film school will also
serve as a source of teaching the youth to venture
into film and video production. Directors and
actors who are already known in the Ghanaian
film industries will be invited as resource
persons to motivate and encourage them. With
the revitalization of the Ghanaian movie industry
our sole aim is to make the northern region
come to par with its southern counterparts.
Our future prospect is to establish a film village
and make that part of the country a beacon in
African movie production.
The stages involved
will ran concurrently to allow students in the
film school to be part of the production crew
for projects that IFF shall undertakes as part
of their practicals and internship.
FILM/VIDEO MAKING STAGE
The film/video stage will see IFF move into
making movies as a sensitization tool for awareness
creation. Such movies will then be showcased
free of charge in the villages on video a projector.
The
viability of IFF to generate
its own internal funds for its operations is
very strong since we will be involve in making
documentaries and other audio visual services
for both the metropolitan, district and other
NGO’s in the country. Funds will also
be generated through the film school.
